April 2008 – Bought our first longarm and coined the ‘Manquilter’

April 2009 – Outgrew my longarm’s warranty and stitch regulator. Decided to find the machine with the best stitch quality, longest warranty and excellent customer service.

April 2009 – Traveled to a Longarm Quilting Show in Manchester, New Hampshire to test drive all the major longarm machines on the market.

Oct 2009 – Upgraded to an APQS Millennium

Nov 2009 – Became a sales rep for APQS (American Professional Quilting Systems)

Jan 2010 – Awarded Rookie Sales Rep of the year(2009)

Oct 2010 – Opened SPARROW STUDIOZ (3000 square foot) Longarm Quilting Studio & APQS Showroom.  www.sparrowstudioz.com

Feb 2011 – Grand Opening of Sparrow Studioz Longarm Rental Program

March 2011 – Hosted Sue Patten Classes (sold out)

June 2011 – Hosted Deloa Jones Classes (sold out)

Dec. 2011 – Hosted Karen McTavish Classes (sold out)

March 2012 – Surpassed 100 quilters in our rental program

Aug. 2012 – Hosted Claudia Pfeil Classes (sold out)

Dec 2012 – Surpassed 300 quilters in our rental program

June 2013 – Hosted Dawn Cavanaugh Classes (sold out)

July 2013 – Promoted to National Sales Manager for Canada at APQS

Nov. 2013 – Hosted Jamie Wallen Classes (sold out)

Sept. 2013 – Opened a rental studio in the Wonderfil Threaducation Centre in Calgary, AB.

Oct. 2013 – Became Wonderfil Retailer in Edmonton carrying 16 lines of thread

Oct. – Dec. 2013 – The Great APQS Canadian Roadshows (Medicine Hat, Calgary, Victoria, Abbotsford, Kamloops, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Sault St. Marie, Ottawa, Toronto)

Dec 2013 – Surpassed 500 quilters in our rental program

Jan 2013 – Became Brother Sewing, Quilting & Embroidery dealer in Edmonton, AB

  1. I cam across this BLOG through Quilting Bloggers – that is so awesome what you do – and do it together. We have an online business my DH and me in quilting stuff – and yes we work together at it but he also has a full time job. He is very active in Pastimes Online but I only wish one day we could quilt across from eachother;) how special.
